Black Sea Freight Markets & Ports 2014: facts, events and summary
VIII International Conference Black Sea Freight Market and Ports 2014, organized by Business-Forum, took place on 15-16 May 2014, in Istanbul, Turkey. The event 2014 was focused on the current state of the Black Sea freight market, regional and global cargo-flows, main challenges and prospects.

The Conference has gathered guests from 16 countries. It became significant event in maritime industry as well as promising business-platform for the leading players in the Black Sea and European shipping market.

This year project was supported by wide range of regional and global maritime and transport organizations. Among them were Turkish Chamber of Shipping, Bulgarian Association of Ship Brokers and Agents (BASBA), Federation of National Associations of Shipbrokers & Agents (FONASBA), Turkish Shipbrokers’ Association (GBD), Bulgarian Association for Freight Forwarding, Transport and Logistics (NSBS), Association of International Forwarding and Logistics Service Providers (UTIKAD) and Turkish Bunker Association.

The agenda was devoted to Dry Bulk sea-borne trade and Container/Multimodal transportation, round-table discussion and networking activities.

*Dry bulk export from the CIS region – steel products & coal, grains & oilseeds
*River shipping in connection to the Black Sea basin - the Danube and the Dnepr rivers

*Multimodal Transportation: transport corridors in the Black Sea and South-East Europe.

The captivating round-table discussion “Dry Bulk Freight Market in the Black Sea region – Trends and Forecasts” followed sessions in a vivid pace, creating atmosphere for exchange of various opinions by panelists and delegates.
